Dental Implant Treatment Options
A dental implant is a small, screw-like fixture made of titanium or titanium zirconium which is placed in the jawbone, normally under local anaesthetic, and acts as a replacement for a missing natural tooth root. Once healed, the artificial root acts as a base for fixing individual crowns, multi-tooth bridges or dentures.

The use of dental implants is a scientifically proven treatment that has been successfully used in the last three decades by qualified dentists and surgeons worldwide. Dental implants are an ideal solution for those people suffering the loss of one or more teeth, providing a secure foundation for a variety of dental restorations. Dental implants enable patients to chew properly, retain their healthy teeth and feel confident and attractive.

For straightforward implant cases with adequate bone, Shiraz has a success rates of over 99%. But he also has the requisite skills and knowledge to take on more challenging cases, which other practitioners may choose to refer.

Using only proven, evidence-based techniques, which sometimes push biological boundaries, Shiraz works quietly and confidently, supported by his experienced team of specially qualified implant nurses. Shiraz’s meticulous attention to detail enables him to place and restore dental implants and provide outstanding outcomes for his patients.

Single Tooth Replacement
Often a single tooth is lost due to an accident and in these cases, which often occur in younger people, a dental implant is a reliable and stable option. A dental implant placed in this scenario does not require any preparation of the adjacent teeth – such as would be the case with a bridge.
Multiple Teeth
Dental implants can also be used to support multiple teeth. This usually involves the placement of two implants, which are used to support a fixed bridge.
Full Arch
To replace all the teeth in an arch, as an alternative to a denture for example, requires several implants to be placed. The number of implants required and the position of their placement will be determined by Shiraz when he has assessed your individual case.

Over Dentures
A loose fitting denture is a common problem for traditional denture wearers. Securing dentures using dental implants restores functional chewing and reduces irritation of the gums, leading to an enhanced quality of life. The additional support enables the wearer to carry on their life with confidence, eat what they want and smile without being self-conscious.

Teeth In a Day
Teeth-in-a-day is a 24-hour process, which involves the patient undergoing a surgical procedure, during which implants are placed at our practice under Shiraz’s careful stewardship. Following treatment the patient goes home and relaxes, returning the following day to have a temporary restoration fitted.

Our technician produces the life-like restoration ready for the patients’ return. As the dental laboratory is nearby, any minor adaptations can be made during the fitting stage.

Although this is technique takes a little more time than some, it is Shiraz’s preferred method as he feels it is important for patients to relax post-operatively, before having the restoration fitted.

This gentle approach, which puts patient needs at the centre of our endeavours, provides outstanding results which patients are delighted with.
